Volunteer Opportunities

CWJC agrees to:

• Train the volunteers.
• Set expectations for specific projects or classes.
• Use your expertise as a tool to enhance CWJC.
• Provide a list of opportunities for you to choose from.
• Provide resources necessary to complete project and/org assignment.
• Meet with you regularly to encourage you as you are working on your project and/or assignment.
• Pray for you.
• Keep confidentiality.

While volunteering at Christian Women's Job Corps of El Paso (CWJC) I agree to:

• Attend training for volunteers.
• Come to meetings that are called by the Executive Director or Site Coordinator.
• Log in and out on the Volunteer Sign-In sheet. Also record hours you spend at home preparing.
• Complete mutually agreed upon projects and/or assignments.
• If I can't complete a task, I will let the Site Coordinator know.
• Be on time and dependable. If I can't be there, I will call and let the Site Coordinator know.
• Put forth my best effort to show God's love at the Site to everyone.
• Pray for participants, staff, other volunteers, and the ministry.
• Keep confidentiality.

While acting in your capacity as a volunteer with minors at Christian Women's Job Corps (CWJC) the following rules shall apply.

• Smoking or using tobacco products in the presence of minors is prohibited.
• Using, possessing, or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs will not be tolerated.
• Volunteers with minors shall not abuse them including:
  • Any direct observations or evidence of sexual activity in the presence of or in association with a minor
  • Any display or demonstration of sexual activity, abuse, insinuation of abuse, or evidence of abusive conduct towards a minor
  • Sexual advances or sexual activity of any kind between any person and a minor
  • Infliction or physically abusive behavior or bodily injury to a minor
  • Physical neglect of a minor(s), including failure to provide adequate supervision in relation to the activities of CWJC
  • Mental or emotion injury to a minor(s)
  • The presence or possession of obscene or pornographic materials at any function of CWJC
  • The presence, possession, or being under the influence of any illegal drugs
  • The consumption of or being under the influence of alcohol while leading or participating in any function at CWJC
  • Periodically update Volunteer Information Forms

Volunteer Acknowledgement and Release

• I understand that I am to report as soon as practicable any accidents or initial injuries to minors or myself to the Executive Director of CWJC.
• I understand that I have recieved and read a copy of the Volunteer Code of Ethics and Rules.
• I understand the policy of CWJC is to cooperate with the initial authorities in the investigation of suspected child abuse and molestation situations. I, as a volunteer, agree to cooperate with the investigation as requested.
• The information contained in this profile is correct to the best of my knowledge.
• I authorize CWJC of El Paso to obtain information from personal references listed herein.
• I authorize any personal reference listed in this application to give you any information, including opinion, that they may have regareding my character and fitness for working with preschool and/or children. I hereby release from liability any person completing a Personal Reference Inquiry form from any and all claims at equity or at law for providing such information.
• I understand that CWJC of El Paso desires to protect its preschoolers and/or children, and therefore give my permission for the designated leadership to conduct the appropriate background checks.
• In consideration of the reciept and evaluation of this form by CWJC of el Paso, I hereby release any individual, church, children's organization, charity, employer, reference, or any other person or organization, both collectively and individually, any time result to me, my heirs, or family or account of compliance or any attempts to comply with this authorization.
• I agree to be bound by the policies adopted by CWJC of El Paso to protect minors and to conform to scriptural conduct in the performance of my services on behalf or CWJC.

I am the adult named above and am more than 18 years of age. I understand that my picture and/or will be used on brochures, social media, and community events for advertising the services provided and to help raise funds for Christian Women's Job Corps of El Paso

By signing below, I agree to serve as a volunteer for this CWJC site. I understand I will listen to the students plans, hopes and dreams. I will walk with them through each phase of development as they strive toward their goals of graduating. I will pray for and with them. I commit to this relationship and to the other responsibilities of serving as a CWJC volunteer. I am responsible for knowing the resources available in my community and to network with those resources. I will intentionally develop relationships that will result in additional resources for my participant. While serving as a volunteer with CWJC, I will devote time to my own emotional, social, spiritual and physical health so that I do not become less, while I am helping another to achieve more. I will stay in touch with CWJC through scheduled meetings, ongoing training, telephone and/or email, and will continue to grow in skills through personal study.
