We invite you to enroll in our 15-week course. You’ll find a variety of lessons on a wide range of topics – everything from faith to employment. All are welcome to take these online courses. Courses will be added regularly so check back often. Come grow with us!

English Second Language Track

The CWJC offers a 15-week non-credit program designed to prepare students to communicate effectively in diverse settings. Instructors present topic-centered lessons that are appealing to students in a variety of learning styles such as group and class discussions, dialogues, pronunciation practices, and vocabulary. These courses are designed for non-native English speakers to improve conversation skills and to explore aspects of the English language in various life scenarios.

ESL Block – English as a Second Language

    • Literacy in English. The students learn to read and write at different levels of complexity with an increasing level of comprehension and fluency.

    • ESL from basic, intermediate to advanced reading, writing, and conversational skills. Participants learn to speak in a variety of situations and environments using increasingly challenging vocabulary and increasing language complexity with greater fluency and precision.

      • Reading Skills. The students read a variety of texts at different levels of complexity for a variety of purposes with an increasing level of comprehension and fluency.

      • Writing Skills. The students write in a variety of forms with increasing ease, accuracy, and complexity to effectively address specific purposes and audiences.

      • Conversational skills. The students become increasingly able to comprehend what they hear, to retrieve information, and to make inferences and connections. The English Language Leaners listen to speakers in a variety of contexts with a variety of English accents.

    • Personal Discovery
      • Discovering that space of our being, where nothing seems impossible, that which will light the way for us to achieve our full fulfillment as human beings, which will be the basis for defining our personal mission and choosing the appropriate goals, those that generate a positive impact on our environment and ourselves.
    • Money Management
      • Financial foundation educational program, the students learn how to make money work better for you, find and save more money, understand investments, protect, and preserve your money.
    • Stress Management
      • Enjoy life more. Emotions, thoughts, and behaviors can affect your health. Learn to recognize the sources of stress in your life, manage stress-related symptoms and illnesses, develop healthy lifestyle habits, and take better care of yourself.
    • Basic Computer Skills
    • Advance Computer Skills
    • Health & Nutrition
      • Nutrition is about eating a healthy and balanced diet. Food and drink provide the energy and nutrients you need to be healthy. Understanding these nutrition terms may make it easier for you to make better food choices.

    • Citizenship
      • You’ll learn important information you need to know if you are thinking about becoming a U.S. Citizen

Bible Study

    • Women have found peace, comfort, hope, security and answers to life’s big questions as they uncover the truth of God’s Word together.

Employment Track

This CWJC 15-week course is offered twice per year for women who have a desire to develop skills for employment. The purpose is to equip women for English as a second language, life and employment.
